My name is Kelly Sweeney. I am a co-founder and tutor of Carmel Literacy Partners. I have 5 children, who I have homeschooled for over 15 years, one of whom is dyslexic. He successfully completed all 12 steps of our structured literacy program, and gained not only reading and comprehension abilities but self-confidence and self esteem. With the love, support and encouragement of my fellow co-founders we launched Carmel Literacy Partners after the passing of our beloved father, who was an undiagnosed dyslexic and suffered because of it.
I am passionate about ensuring every child has the tools they need to become confident, successful readers.
Welcome to Carmel Literacy Partners. With a deep understanding of diverse learning, Carmel Literacy Partners creates an engaging and supportive environment that empowers students to thrive.

Beth Santangelo‘s passion for literacy empowers her to train compassionate, highly skilled tutors. She believes in and is inspired by Dr. Maryanne Wolf’s powerful reminder that dyslexia requires different teaching methods: “It is never the fault of the child, but rather the responsibility of us who teach to find methods that work.” In fact, it would be wonderful if all students could receive the gift of structured literacy instruction to learn our language.
Beth has over ten years of classroom teaching experience in addition to now serving as a Wilson® Reading System Credentialed Trainer (W.C.T.) and certified Structured Literacy Dyslexia Specialist.
With the founding team’s guidance, Carmel Literacy Partners works to address the significant gap in literacy support within the community, offering accessible, effective instruction that nurtures every learner’s strengths, talents, and potential.
