Adult Education

Currently two Adult Education classes are offered.  One is taught by Dr. Thornton on a variety of topics, frequently centering on Bible study.  This class meets in the Fellowship Lounge, down the hall from the front entrance and on the right.  The Alternate Adult Education Class meets in the Chapel and uses a small group discussion format.  This class has studied books which relate Christianity to daily life.  See the website section under Christian Education Hour for recent topics.  Both classes welcome new participants.

**Attn parents:  We provide loving and Christ-centered childcare in our nursery every Sunday, during our 9:00AM education hour, as well as during our 10:00AM worship service.  We have several young families with children in our church, and we would love to welcome your little ones if you choose to visit our congregation.  To get to the nursery, enter church through the glass doors (Edge Hill Rd. entrance), and walk down the hall on your right.  Just after the library, on the right hand side, is our nursery.  We also offer elementary aged classes, a confirmation class, and “breakfast club” for Jr./Sr. Highers. For more information, please contact our church office at [email protected]

Small Groups are offered periodically. A midweek Growth Group exploring deeper dimensions of the Enneagram as it relates to our own spiritual life is offered by Dr. Thornton.   For more information, please contact our church office at [email protected]

The men of the church enjoy a breakfast at 7:30 A.M., usually on the third Saturday of each month.  Dr. Thornton leads a lesson or a discussion time with the 20-25 men who attend.  The Men’s Breakfast meets in Carmel Hall.  New members are welcome.

Membership:  Membership: 27 active members plus 13 honorary members. Our organization consists of two active circles meeting on the third Tuesday evening and Wednesday afternoon, September through June, for Bible study, fellowship, business and second-mile giving to missions. The Tuesday evening circle meets in members’ homes, and the Wednesday afternoon circle meets in the Fellowship Lounge. More information and times are available from the church office.

Circle Bible Study:  Circle Bible Study: Our studies use the Presbyterian PC-USA Horizons Bible Study. Studies are led by circle members.

Mission giving: The Presbyterian Women support mission causes designated by Presbyterian Women of the Presbytery of Philadelphia.  The Sewing Group makes items for donation to local hospitals and other charitable organizations.  Our Deacons also run a “care and share” closet with rotating collections for local mission giving. Some of our recipients include Cradle of Hope, Broad Street Ministry and Presbyterian Children’s Village.
