The Rev. Dr. James W. Thornton (Jim) began pastoral ministry in June 1979 after graduating with a Masters of Divinity from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in South Hamilton, Massachusetts. He had previously graduated from Geneva College in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, where he was a Biblical Studies major. Rev. Ashley B. Rossi, Associate Pastor

Ashley Rossi is an ordained minister of Word and Sacrament in the ELCA. She grew up in western Pennsylvania, and as the daughter of an organist, was active in church life from a young age. Ashley was called to the vocation of ministry. She holds a Master of Divinity from the Lutheran Theological Seminary in Philadelphia (2012). In her first call, she served as Pastor of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. Her passions include social justice issues, and re-imagining church in the 21st century. Ashley lives with her husband, three children, and pit bull in Glenside.

Abigail Vander Hart Palmisano is the Director of Music at Carmel Presbyterian Church. Abigail (Abby) is the organist for all worship services, director of the church’s four vocal choirs, and co-director of the handbell choir. Mary Kate Nolen, Church Secretary

Mary Kate is a local girl, having grown up in Wyncote before moving all the way to Glenside and, later, Jenkintown.  She is the married mother of three children, one girl and two boys, aged 14, 12, and 8.  A graduate of DeSales University, she has been home with her children for some time, but has worked as an executive assistant, a medical journal editor, and a meeting planner.  In whatever free time she can carve out, she enjoys reading, cooking, yoga, and enjoying the company of her family and two dogs.  She is thrilled to be here at Carmel, and grateful for the very warm welcome she has received.
